Comment apprécier la compétence d’un auditeur interne ? L’opinion des membres du comité d’audit

Abstract
Cet article vise à cerner comment les membres du comité d’audit apprécient la compétence d’un auditeur interne dans le contexte du secteur public québécois. Pour mener à bien cette recherche, des entrevues individuelles auprès de quatorze membres de comités d’audit ont été réalisées. Les résultats indiquent que ces derniers recherchent des habiletés et des valeurs particulières chez l’auditeur interne pour le juger compétent. Ces résultats sont intéressants et originaux, car ils font ressortir des valeurs autres que la traditionnelle indépendance et ils ne mettent pas l’accent sur les critères de compétence. Cet article contribue à la littérature portant sur les relations entre l’auditeur interne et le comité d’audit, car il s’intéresse aux attentes de l’un par rapport à l’autre.
