The gas-phase reaction of the CF3 radical with thiophene
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The reaction of CF 3 radicals, generated by photolysis of CF 3 I or hexafluoroacetone with thiophene, was studied in the gas phase at 25 °C. At conversion of thiophene less than 20%, monosubstituted CF 3 -thiophenes were found as the main reaction products, in addition to CF 3 H, C 2 F 6 , and monosubstituted dihydro-CF 3 -thiophene, the latter in very low proportion. An isomeric mixture of 2- and 3-CF 3 -thiophene was obtained in a ratio of about 16, independent of the radical source used (CF 3 I or hexafluoroacetone) to produce the CF 3 radicals. A plausible mechanism that accounts for the observed products is proposed, and the reactivity of thiophene toward the CF 3 radical at 25 °C was determined as k add /k c 1/2 = 106 ± 4 cm 3/2 mol –1/2 s –1/2 .Key words: thiophene, trifluoromethyl radical, reaction mechanism, reactivity.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
