Abstract
Obata and colleagues (1972) reported on the first known fossil remains of a mosasaur (Squamata; Mosasauridae) from Japan. At the time of the report, the specimen (NSM-PV15003) was not completely prepared, but it was clear that it consisted of at least three partial and somewhat disarticulated caudal vertebrae.
