Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

In this paper the price discovery process around new anticipated information in the Spanish stock market is analysed. Specifically, the existence of both significant abnormal returns and intraday volatility around the quarter- ly earnings release date is tested in order to assess the price impact and the dispersion of opinion across investors. Furthermore, we analyse whether abnormal returns and volatility are related to the quarter of earnings announce- ment, the sign of the surprise, the size of the firm, and the timing of the announcement. Our results suggest that the price discovery around earnings release date is a dynamic process since the interim earnings announcements have informational value and cause dispersion of opinion across investors when the in- formation is released. Moreover, the sign of the surprise and the quantity of previous information in the market have impact on the price discovery.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
