Abstract
On observe depuis plusieurs annees qu’un certain nombre de courants pedagogiques interpellent le milieu collegial. C’est ainsi que, tour a tour, le Mastery Learning, l’enseignement strategique et, plus recemment, l’approche cooperative ont attire l’attention. A cela s’ajoutent nos preoccupations sur l’enseignement des attitudes, le soutien a la reussite scolaire et l’approche interculturelle. Cette quete a laquelle nous assistons est symptomatique d’une insatisfaction quant a nos pratiques pedagogiques. Ce qui est fascinant, c’est que ces courants pedagogiques ont en commun de faire une place plus grande a l’eleve. Or, au-dela de la curiosite et de quelques activites de formation, il y a eu bien peu de retombees dans les pratiques pedagogiques. L’explication reside en partie dans la difficulte de remettre en question des facons de faire bien enracinees. La revision des programmes, compte tenu des exigences qu’elle impose, fournit une occasion de proceder a ces changements. Il est aussi interessant de remarquer que ce sont la des courants nord-americains qui ont leur pendant en Europe.
