Biogenic Gas Accumulation in the Upper Cretaceous Belle Fourche and Second White Speckled Shale Formation in the Tangleflags Area, North Central Saskatchewan - Preliminary Investigations
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The first gas production from wells completed in the Second White Specks in the Tangleflags and Peck Lake areas (Township 51-60, Ranges 23-28W3M) of North Central Saskatchewan was reported in 1985. An upswing in the number of wells in production commenced in 2000, with now over 80 wells that have produced or are producing from the Second White Speckled shale sandstone (Belle Fourche). Over 27 Bcf has been produced to date from the thin (< 5 meters) fine grained glauconitic sandstone lying within the Lower Belle Fourche (also known as the Second White Speckled sandstone). The Lower Belle Fourche consists of medium grey, noncalcareous shales and calcareous shales and mudstones interbedded with very fine- to fine-grained finely laminated glauconitic sandstone. Detailed mapping of cored intervals and the correlation of geophysical well logs to produce a stratigraphic framework for the area is currently underway. This work will eventually be correlated with the previous work in southern gas pools of southwestern Saskatchewan in an attempt to delineate further areas of gas exploration.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
