Abstract
ailpower Technologies Corporation of Vancouver, Canada, and Erie, Pennsylvania, has developed a range of hybrid locomotives for the rail industry. The company has experienced growth in capital of over US$350 million, has a growing staff of more than 100, and has an order book of more than 150 locomotives, but it wasn’t always so. Railpower is being transformed by the response to the hybrid locomotives in a way that is unprecedented in the rail industry, which is known for its conservative approach to change.
