Photoionization of Xe<sup>+</sup> ion confined in C<sub>60</sub> fullerene

Abstract
Photoionization of a Xe + ion confined inside C 60 has been studied theoretically using our recently developed C 60 model potential and the open-shell random phase approximation with exchange method. The calculation included all of the intershell couplings among the 4d–[Formula: see text]f, 5s–[Formula: see text]p, and 5p–[Formula: see text]s, [Formula: see text]d transitions. The results demonstrate significantly stronger correlation confinement resonances in the Xe + @C 60 photoionization and strong intershell coupling between the 4d–[Formula: see text]f and the 5s–[Formula: see text]p transitions.
