Durante casi un cuarto de siglo, hasta su clausura y derribo a finales de los anos ochenta, este inmueble de trazas racionalistas desempeno un destacado papel en la vida cultural y social cacerena. Heredero de las proyecciones que otrora acogieran el Gran Teatro, el Cine Norba y el Cine Capitol, el Astoria fue el ultimo gran edificio de cine construido en la ciudad de Caceres antes de la irrupcion de los multicines EnglishThe formerAstoria Cinema in Caceres was inaugurated on May 5th, 1963. For nearly a quarter century, until its closure and demolition in the late eighties, this building with rationalist traces played a prominent role in the cultural, social life in Caceres. As heir of the projections that hosted in the past the Gran Teatro, Cine Norba and Cine Capitol, Astoria was the last great cinema building constructed in Caceres before the advent of multiplexes.
