Abstract
The study reported here has two main purposes. The first is to test the presence of some positive effects of low cost housing for older people on their quality of life. The second purpose is to verify the potential negative effects of refusal of the admission request. Results indicate that relocation has some positive consequences : it increases the number of contacts with neighbors, participation in associations and housing satisfaction ; relocation also decreases feelings of boredom and loneliness. Conversely, admission refusal increases these feelings and lowers the level of help received from friends and family.
