Dans ma contribution je me propose de présenter et d’analyser le récit de vie de Luise Straus-Ernst, historienne d’art, première femme du peintre Max Ernst, née à Cologne en 1893 et morte en déportation à Auschwitz en 1944. Sa rétrospection, Les Trésors d’une nomade, écrite à Manosque où Luise Straus-Ernst avait trouvé refuge grâce à l’écrivain Jean Giono, est l’occasion d’une prise de conscience et d’une réflexion profonde d’une femme peu ordinaire face à une situation extrême. Elle permet de reconstituer les étapes de la vie et de l’exil de cette intellectuelle en France et d’analyser le regard qu’elle porte sur son propre passé et sur l’expérience de l’exil au féminin.
