Abstract
Du printemps 1934 à l’hiver 1935, la bourgeoisie canadienne-française de Montréal est le lectorat ciblé de deux brèves entreprises journalistiques sous la direction d’Olivar Asselin. L’une d’elles, L’Ordre, fait sa spécialité de l’éditorial et du commentaire détaillé des actualités culturelles, politiques et économiques. Au coeur du brassage d’idées qu’amène la crise socioéconomique, Asselin et ses collaborateurs mettent en chantier un libéralisme de conservation, sous l’influence du conservatisme doctrinal et du libéralisme français.
