Este número especial franco-português de Encontros Bibli é fruto da colaboração entre pesquisadores em Ciência da Informação de escolas especializadas neste domínio no Brasil e no Canadá. A co-organização é de responsabilidade de duas pesquisadoras da área. Do lado canadense, Basma Makhlouf (doutoranda da Escola de Biblioteconomia e Ciência da Informação (EBSI), da Universidade de Montreal. Do lado brasileiro, por Lidia Eugenia Cavalcante, professora da Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC).
