Abstract

This paper explores using of emotional intelligence together with specification of adaptation strategies in learning on the Web. Emotional intelligence represents an essential part for effective communication, adaptability/adaptivity and personal satisfaction. In this paper we propose and describe an adaptive educational hypermedia system, called eQ. The main aim is to describe adaptation to the individual user traits that can be modelled in the form of stereotypical user model, based on first order logic sentences. Also, we show the way how eQ system can be implemented into the FOSP method, to specify adaptation strategies in adaptive hypermedia systems.
