Abstract
Chahdortt Djavann (iranienne d’origine), installée en France depuis 1993, et Djemila Benhabib (d’origine algéro-chypriote), installée au Québec depuis 1997, après trois ans en France, ont osé s’attaquer à des sujets sociaux et politiques brûlants. Bien qu’elles soient de langues et de cultures différentes, toutes les deux ont grandi dans des pays de tradition musulmane. Ayant vécu à des époques charnières de l’histoire de leurs pays, elles ont connu des applications différentes de leur religion avant et après l’arrivée des islamistes. Leurs idées et leurs points de vue sur l’actualité en Orient et en Occident méritent d’être appréciés.
