Abstract
Nous proposons de décrire le fonctionnement des outils de gestion en utilisant la métaphore cartographique. En effet, une carte géographique et un outil de gestion ont ceci en commun qu’ils sont tous deux des artefacts physiques qui représentent des objets extérieurs (la première, un territoire, et le second, une organisation) en les simplifiant afin d’aider un sujet à s’y orienter (un voyageur, pour la carte, et un manager, pour l’outil de gestion). La connaissance des cartes étant bien plus avancée que celle des instruments de gestion, c’est d’elles que nous tirons quelques pistes de réflexion pour la conception d’outils de gestion mieux adaptés.
