Abstract
This paper describes several ongoing distance education activities in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba. Differences from alternative and more traditional distance education are being realized through extensive use of the Internet, related tools and applications, and access to experimental broadband services networks. Cet article rend compte de plusieurs activites en education a distance actuellement en cours au sein du departement d'ingenierie electrique et informatique de l'Universite du Manitoba. On observe des differences entre des modes alternatifs et traditionnels d'education a distance en vertu d'une utilisation approfondie de l'Internet, d'outils et d'applications peripheriques de meme que d'un acces a des services experimentaux de reseaux a large bande.
