Abstract
The nineties was a positive for foreign direct investment period; movement that was favored by the process of opening the country; which passes from the eighties where Colombia was welcomed to the regulations of the Andean Group to a new decade characterized by a new economic and social model, called by some authors the neoliberal model; which based on an economic policy has sought to minimize state intervention in economic and social matters, defending the capitalist free market as collateral equilibrium in markets. The purpose of this study is analyzing some effects above the investment on the implementation of trade agreements that have been signed with countries like the U.S. and Canada is discussed.
