Dans nos pays occidentaux, médicalement, le cancer n’a probablement jamais aussi bien été pris en charge qu’aujourd’hui. Le cancer est de moins en moins une maladie mortelle, de plus en plus une maladie chronique. Qui s’en plaindra ? Probablement pas le patient, mais peut-être la société, confrontée à des choix économiques impossibles, et qui pourrait bien être tentée par le recours à l’euthanasie quand elle sera légalisée. Dès lors, que restera-t-il de l’éthique du soin ? Faudra-t-il un jour prochain choisir entre cancer et éthique ?
