À partir des notions d’éthique et de souveraineté élaborées dans le domaine des études littéraires autochtones en Amérique du Nord, cet article propose une réflexion sur le recours à la légende du windigo dans la création autochtone contemporaine, plus particulièrement en contexte francophone. Par contraste avec la construction occidentale de la psychose du windigo, l’article met en avant la conceptualisation d’une violence récurrente articulée dans le court métrage de fiction Windigo du réalisateur anishnabe Kris Happyjack-McKenzie.
