La multimodalité au coeur de la classe de français : la compréhension de multitextes chez les élèves du 3e cycle du primaire

Abstract
Les difficultés en lecture représentent un facteur de risque important de décrochage scolaire, problématique affectant davantage les garçons. L’étude présentée dans le cadre de cet article s’est attardée au développement de deux stratégies de compréhension en lecture, soit l’inférence et le rappel de récit, à l’aide d’une approche s’appuyant sur la bande dessinée. L’objectif était de mesurer l’impact de cette intervention sur la motivation en lecture ainsi que le degré d’acquisition des deux stratégies étudiées auprès de 30 garçons de 5 e année du primaire éprouvant des difficultés d’apprentissage. Les résultats suggèrent que l’intervention aurait eu un certain impact sur la motivation des élèves du groupe expérimental en ayant possiblement atténué, chez ces derniers, la baisse de motivation qui s’est produite chez les élèves ayant reçu un enseignement régulier. De plus, il est également possible d’observer une tendance statistique très près d’être jugée statistiquement significative au sein du groupe témoin, où l’habileté à utiliser les indices pour produire une inférence semble diminuer entre les deux passations, tendance non observée chez les élèves ayant participé à l’intervention. Enfin, les résultats montrent une augmentation presque significative au sein du groupe expérimental sur le plan de l’habileté à produire un rappel de texte de bande dessinée, ce qui n’a pas été constaté au sein du groupe témoin.
