Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

We present a search for a new particle ${T}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ decaying to a top quark via ${T}^{\ensuremath{'}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}t+X$, where $X$ goes undetected. We use a data sample corresponding to $5.7\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of integrated luminosity of $p\overline{p}$ collisions with $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$, collected at Fermilab Tevatron by the CDF II detector. Our search for pair production of ${T}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ is focused on the hadronic decay channel, $p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{T}^{\ensuremath{'}}{\overline{T}}^{\ensuremath{'}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}t\overline{t}+X\overline{X}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}bq\overline{q}\overline{b}q\overline{q}+X\overline{X}$. We interpret our results in terms of a model where ${T}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ is an exotic fourth generation quark and $X$ is a dark matter particle. The data are consistent with standard model expectations. We set a limit on the generic production of ${T}^{\ensuremath{'}}{\overline{T}}^{\ensuremath{'}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}t\overline{t}+X\overline{X}$, excluding the fourth generation exotic quarks ${T}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ at 95% confidence level up to ${m}_{{T}^{\ensuremath{'}}}=400\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/{c}^{2}$ for ${m}_{X}\ensuremath{\le}70\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/{c}^{2}$.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
