L’objectif de cet article est de proposer des pistes d’analyse de la qualité pédagogique des stages de formation clinique en médecine. Le cadre conceptuel d’apprentissage et d’enseignement contextualisé authentique (AECA) représente la principale ressource théorique (Bédard, Frenay, Turgeon & Paquay, 2000 ; Frenay & Bédard, 2004) de ce travail. Celui-ci est fondé sur deux principes pédagogiques fondamentaux intimement liés : l’authenticité du contexte d’apprentissage et le compagnonnage cognitif. Chaque principe présente des conditions destinées à améliorer la qualité d’enseignement et d’apprentissage d’un dispositif pédagogique comme peut l’être un parcours de stages cliniques.Une traduction des principes de l’AECA en critères d’analyse de la qualité pédagogique des stages est fondée sur le postulat que leur identification faciliterait la construction d’un diagnostic pédagogique du terrain clinique envisagé. Il servirait d’outil pour qui s’intéresse au questionnement de la qualité pédagogique des stages cliniques.
