Zusammenfassung: Am Beispiel des Clay Belts in Ontario/Quebec, des Peace River Country in Nordalberta sowie des Matanuska- und Tanana-Tals in Alaska werden die Entwicklungstendenzen der Agrarkolonisation der letzten 40 Jahre aufgezeigt. Stagnation der Ackerbaufrontier in allen Regionen geht einher mit einer Starkung der Forstwirtschaft und vor allem der Erdol- und Erdgasexploration und -forderung im borealen Waldlandgurtel Nordamerikas.
