Abstract
Dr. Ings describes his life as a veterinary doctor following graduation from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1952. This book is a series of short stories about veterinary practice in rural PEI in the time before many of the common antibiotics and drugs were available and vets or their wives prepared IV calcium and dextrose on the kitchen stove. Paved roads were rare, gravel roads turned to mud in the spring, winter storms were vicious and snow plough equipment poor. The book opens and closes with a few personal notes of growing up on a farm in PEI, life at Guelph and some reminiscences. Profit from the sale of this book goes to the PEI Chapter of the SPCA.
