Abstract
Cet article vise à circonscrire les permanences politiques dans l’oeuvre de Leslie Kaplan. Son premier livre, L’excès-l’usine (1982), témoigne de son établissement en usine en 1968. Son travail romanesque et essayistique ultérieur met en oeuvre une volonté d’aller au plus près des conditions matérielles d’existence des dominés. Son engagement dans diverses résidences d’écriture et dans des ateliers d’écriture en milieu populaire prolonge en effet la remise en question de l’autorité de l’intellectuel qui caractérise, en France, certains courants maoïstes de 68. Ce positionnement renvoie à une éthique et une politique de la littérature qui postulent une égalité entre l’écrivain, le non-écrivain et le lecteur.
