Abstract
RESUMODiversas alternativas têm sido buscadas para minimizar o impacto ambiental causado pelos polímeros convencionais.Uma importante alternativa é o uso de polímeros biodegradáveis, no entanto, devido o seu alto custo quando comparados com polímeros convencionais, emerge a necessidade de desenvolvimento de misturas poliméricas biodegradáveis utilizando aditivos naturais degradáveis tais como o amido.O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar um estudo do monitoramento tecnológico de blendas poliméricas constituídas por poliésteres aromáticos alifáticos e amido usando patentes como fontes de informações, englobando documentos depositados desde o ano de 1973 até o momento por cada país depositante.Verificou-se um aumento acentuado de patentes em 1989 em decorrência do aumento da consciência sustentável que o mundo passava em detrimento do Protocolo de Montreal.Existem 16 países detentores de patentes sobre o tema, sendo o que mais se destaca é o Japão com 48% dos documentos depositados.
