This makes it highly relevant to know tourists’ tastes, preferences and traveling habits so as to incorporate technical criteria in planning public and private investment, and in the creation, innovation or specialization of tourist products. Therefore, this investigation determined the profile of the tourist who uses the hotels in Otavalo as a way of contributing to the design of the tourism offering. A cross-sectional non-experimental design was used.
