Abstract
Cet article presente les recherches menees a l'Ecole de Technologie Superieure de Montreal sur le positionnement d'un appareil Wi-Fi a l'interieur des bâtiments. On utilise la technique dite du fingerprinting, qui consiste a relever les caracteristiques (fingerprint) des signaux aux differents endroits du bâtiment lors d'une phase de calibration, puis a les enregistrer dans une base de donnees qui permettra par la suite d'associer caracteristiques du signal et lieu. Une nouvelle approche du RF fingerprinting est introduite, fondee sur l'utilisation de stations de scan Linux, approche qui permet la localisation de tout appareil Wi-Fi sans l'utilisation d'un logiciel particulier sur l'appareil, et avec une latence tres faible.
