Abstract
The thesis deals with the lexical and syntactical feminization in the French language. It analyses the overall development of the feminization and the different ways of its adoption in the European Francophone countries (France, Belgium, Luxemburg, and Switzerland) and the two French-speaking Canadian provinces (Quebec and Ontario). The work also discusses the application of the feminization rules in various fields of human culture (media, politics, and sports).
