Abstract
Réunis au sein du comité de recherche « Sociologie urbaine : villes, sociétés et action publique » de l'Association internationale des sociologues de langue française, douze jeunes chercheurs apportent un regard neuf sur des questions fortes de la sociologie urbaine, notamment la ségrégation, la production et l'expérience de la ville. Pour les aborder, ils mobilisent d'autres disciplines ou d'autres champs de la sociologie - la famille, l'action publique, le travail -, et renouvellent les méthodes et les terrains. Il en ressort un tableau complexe, où le nouveau centre d'affaires d'Istanbul côtoie le périurbain, l'espace public ou les quartiers gentrifiés de Paris, Montréal ou Milan, au même titre que les copropriétés fermées, légales ou non, d'Amérique latine. L'espace-temps des travailleurs saisonniers rencontre celui du retour en vacances au « bled » ou celui, quotidien, des jeunes habitants de « zones urbaines sensibles » franciliennes. Mais toutes ces recherches convergent sur un point : elles marquent le retour de l'espace dans la sociologie urbaine.
