Abstract
La satire des mots la mode s'inscrit dans une longue tradition franaise. Elle entre dans la presse pendant la Rvolution : les journalistes contre-rvolutionnaires se moquent des nologismes imagins par les rvolutionnaires. Sans tre l'apanage de la droite, elle prsente des affinits avec un conservatisme politique dont tmoignent, la fin du XX e sicle, les chroniques puristes du Figaro. Depuis 2008 cependant, Libration puis, partir de 2011, Le Monde proposent des chroniques de langue d'une orientation sensiblement diffrente. Les usagers des mots la mode y apparaissent comme les victimes inconscientes d'une novlangue venue de l'entreprise et des milieux de la communication. La satire des mots la mode entre ainsi dans un schma nouveau : ce n'est plus la droite qui reproche la gauche d'abuser d'un jargon la mode, mais plutt la gauche qui raille un jargon la mode initi par la droite.
