Faisant suite à la publication du premier volume des Œuvres complètes de Georges Canguilhem (Paris, Vrin, 2011), cet article entend montrer comment une étude minutieuse des nombreuses références à Descartes et à la philosophie cartésienne disséminées dans ces textes de jeunesse peut contribuer à une meilleure compréhension de la formation et de la transformation de la pensée de Canguilhem. On insistera notamment sur le fait que c’est par l’intermédiaire de la lecture toute personnelle qu’Alain faisait de Descartes que Canguilhem a pu en venir à aborder le problème de la création, entendue au sens large, dans le cadre d’une réflexion sur le rapport entre la connaissance et l’action dans Descartes.
