Abstract
L'auteure étudie les pratiques du Comité de protection de l'enfance de la Société des Nations, en marge de l'enquête sur l'enfance en danger moral conduite entre 1928 et 1933 pour la SDN dans sept pays, dont le Canada, par une enquêteuse française et catholique. Elle montre comment les identités et les divisions ethniques et religieuses servirent souvent de fondement à l'action des Canadiens vis-à-vis de la SDN, et comment, à certains moments, les tensions internationales ont contribué à exacerber les préjugés venus du Canada. Elle identifie des réseaux internationaux d'influence en matière de politique de l'enfance et les montre profondément divisés par l'appartenance culturelle; en même temps, elle repère des circonstances où l'idéal pacifiste de collaboration a semblé s'accomplir.
