Abstract
The Council on Library (and Media) Technicians (COLT) and ALIA have entered into a professional affiliation. COLT (http://colt.ucr.edu/) is the US organisation that addresses the issues and concerns of library and media support staff personnel. LATIN (Library Assistants/Technicians International Network) was formed to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information between library paraprofessionals. LATIN operates as an ALIA e-list and has subscribers from Canada, USA, UK and Australia.
