Abstract
Le portrait énergétique de la région, réalisé en 2009 par la Commission régionale sur les ressources naturelles et le territoire (CRRNT) de la Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ), attirait l'attention sur l'intérêt de la biomasse combustible. Il fournissait quelques pistes sur son potentiel énergétique, mais cette filière aurait mérité un traitement à part et un approfondissement. Le besoin se faisait donc sentir de connaître avec plus de précision le potentiel régional de cette ressource, premier pas en vue de son développement harmonieux et durable. La CRÉ a ainsi procédé à l'inventaire des différentes sources d'approvisionnement en biomasse combustible du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. Cette information pourra servir à évaluer les différents types de projets de combustion. Cet inventaire établit, pour chaque source d'approvisionnement, les volumes disponibles, leur emplacement géographique par MRC, leur valeur énergétique et leur coût approximatif d'approvisionnement.
