Abstract
L’agence de recrutement de l’Université de St-Boniface, petite université francophone de l’Ouest canadien, cherche à recruter des étudiantes et étudiants au sein de ses programmes de 1er cycle auprès des écoles d’immersion française, des écoles françaises ainsi que des collectivités d’immigrants francophones. Cependant, un pourcentage important des étudiants admis éprouve des difficultés relatives aux compétences linguistiques.Les résultats préliminaires de ma recherche qualitative fondée sur une série d’entretiens avec des étudiants allophones, anglophones et francophones révèlent une « responsabilisation linguistique » des apprenants grâce à l’intégration de certains éléments du Portfolio canadien des langues pour enseignants (CASLT/ACPLS, 2010) dans le cadre du cours de rattrapage, Français 1001 : Grammaire de l’écrit. Les répercussions sur l’encadrement linguistique des étudiants, la formation initiale des enseignants de langue et le rôle primordial des écoles secondaires sont mis en valeur dans ce rapport.
