Abstract
Are there development prospects for traditional products, their recognition, public protection through the controlled labeling of origin, or protected geographic labeling outside of Europe and in particular in North America? This paper addresses these questions by analyzing the Quebec situation. It shows that the introduction of the European legislative framework in Quebec would represent a radical innovation. After analyzing the different stages in the transfer process, the paper addresses the construction of a new form of quality certification.
