Abstract
The article describes the work of the Tyumen regional museum named after IY Slovtsov to establish permanent exhibitions in the last quarter of XIX the beginning of the XXI century. The museum is becoming a focal point of cultural, cognitive and educational life of the population. Museum has a particularly important role in educating the public and admission of the Tyumen region and other nearby towns to cultural values, in the study of nature, economy and life of the region, as well as in the development of scientific thought of Tyumen region. In many ways, this has affected exposition and exhibition activities of the museum, which is carried out on materials of unique collections and has a long tradition, which started in 1879, when it was formed. In connection with obtaining new museum space, a network of branches of the Tyumen regional museum and rural areas of the Tyumen region, expanded exposition work. The article deals with the work of each branch separately. For the first time fully described expositions Tyumen Regional Museum of local lore.
