Le quartier des Aubiers, pôle multimodal de la métropole bordelaise, est articulé autour du tramway et anime l’espace public. Notre recherche montre que l’arrivée du tramway dans le quartier des Aubiers a contribué au développement d’une mobilité piétonne importante vers l’ensemble de la métropole bordelaise. La mise en relation entre l’environnement urbain et la marchabilité permet de mettre en exergue combien la configuration des espaces entraîne une pluralité des pratiques de la marche. Les itinéraires empruntés dans le quartier se révèlent être fort différents selon l’identité du marcheur : passant ou résident. En mutation constante, le site des Aubiers témoigne des nouvelles perspectives qu’apporte la prise en compte de la marche pour repenser l’espace public.
