Abstract
Le present document propose un examen de la composition de l?epargne nationale brute au Canada et aux Etats-Unis sur une periode de plus de 80 ans, fonde sur des series chronologiques fournies par le Bureau of Economic Analysis des Etats-Unis et un nouvel ensemble de donnees pour le Canada. Grace a un examen des fluctuations annuelles a court terme, des fluctuations cycliques et des changements de composition a long terme, on constate un degre considerable de reaffectation de l?epargne nationale entre les differents secteurs, annuellement et d?un cycle economique a l?autre. Le taux d?epargne national est plus stable que les taux d?epargne sectoriels, ce qui signifie que les changements sectoriels se sont generalement contrebalances.
