Abstract
Le marché des matières récupérées s’est effondré en 2008 et les plastiques ne font pas exception. Leur diversité et leurs incompatibilités réciproques compliquent leur recyclage. Cette étude s’est donné pour objectif d’identifier des façons de donner une valeur ajoutée aux plastiques récupérés par les centres de tri québécois. Dix-neuf recommandations basées sur les 3RV, la faisabilité et la performance ont été formulées à l’égard des différents intervenants du secteur. L’étude a démontré que la valeur ajoutée n’est pas l’unique responsabilité des centres de tri et que plusieurs entités décisionnelles sont interpellées. Une réforme du système de consigne ainsi qu’une réglementation sur la fabrication des produits en plastique et l’uniformisation des matières acceptées par les centres de tri à travers le Québec sont au nombre des recommandations retenues.
