Dans l’univers sclérosé et aliénant de l’enfermement psychiatrique, rares sont les occasions offertes aux patients de se positionner en tant que sujets et de se libérer de la stigmatisation. Une initiative argentine inédite utilise les rouages de la communication afin de donner un rôle actif et une utilité sociale aux malades mentaux. La Colifata, radio créée au sein d’un hôpital psychiatrique argentin, est animée par les patients, leur permettant ainsi de créer des ponts de communication vers l’extérieur et d’offrir une vision radicalement différente de la maladie mentale. Tout d’abord clandestine, la radio a par la suite été reconnue d’utilité publique et essaime maintenant à travers le monde entier. L’auteur propose une analyse de la genèse de ce dispositif, de son fonctionnement et de ses bénéfices.
