Abstract
Craig Evans is Payzant Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Director of the Graduate Programme at Acadia Divinity College in Wolfville, Novia Scotia, Canada. He has written extensively on the historical Jesus and the Jewish background of the New Testament era. He served on the advisory board of the Gospel of Judas for the National Geographic Society and is a prolific mainstream scholar to provide an antidote on recent portraits of the historical Jesus in the popular media.
