O presente texto revisa quatro abordagens quantitativas do ciberespaço (cibergeografia, teoria matemática das redes, análise de hiperlinks e webometria) e propõe que a confluência de pressupostos e técnicas das mesmas, quando orientada pelo reconhecimento do caráter midiático da Web Web, pode resultar numa metodologia extremamente potente para apoiar empiricamente investigações do ciberespaço.
