Abstract
토양 전염균인 F. solani f. sp. glycines에 의한 콩 SDS 발생 피해는 계속적으로 확산되어 미국의 경우 북부와 남부에 걸친 전 콩 재배포장에서 발견되며 현재 미국 이외에 북미대륙의 Canada, 남미대륙의 Argentina와 Brazil, 그리고 아시아의 대만 등지에서 그 발병이 보고되는 등 그 피해지역이 크게 확산되고 있다. 1994년 주요 콩 생산국가인 미국, Argentina 그리고 Brazil의 SDS에 의한 피해는 각각 89,000 ton, 134,000 ton, 그리고 15,000 ton으로 보고되었다. SDS는 25℃이하의 낮은 기온과 높은 토양수분함량 조건 그리고 SCN와 깊은 관련이 있는 것으로 보이며, 콩 재배포장에서 개화기 전후에 시작되어 콩의 전 생육기간에 걸쳐 발생한다. 콩의 SDS 병은 뿌리썩음병으로 지상부의 엽맥을 제외한 엽조직의 모자이크 형태의 괴저현상과 지하부뿌리 감염에 의한 적갈색으로의 변색 등으로 특징되며, 줄기의 유관속 부분은 변색되지 않아, Phialophora gregata에 의한 갈색줄기썩은병 (brown stem rot) 등 다른 병과 구분된다. SDS의 원인균인 유전적 단일계열의 F. solani f. sp. glycines은 17Kda의 mono polypeptide의 phytotoxin을 생산하여 지상부잎의 병징을 일으키는 것으로 밝혀졌는데, MNSM 선택배지상에서 쉽게 분리 등정되고, 실온조건의 PDA배지상에서 비교적 늦은 생장속도를 보이며, 파란색 중심부와 하얀색 주변부의 colony를 형성한다. 현재 미국에서는 SDS 저항성 콩 유전자원의 탐색 및 품종 육종을 위해 외국도입 콩 품종들에 대한 포장 및 온실 assay와 molecular marker들을 이용한 연구가 활발하다. SDS 저항성 콩 품종들의 저항성은 하나 이상의 복합 유전자 좌에 의해 조절됨이 밝혀졌다. 또한 대부분의 SDS 저항성을 갖는 콩 품종들은 SCN에도 저항성을 보이는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 미국의 대표적인 SDS 저항성 품종으로는 Hartwig, Ripley, Forrest, 그리고 Asgrow 6297등이 있으며 SDS 저항성 도입종 으로는 PI 520733, PI 567374, PI 567315, PI 567441C, PI 567650B, 그리고 PI 567664등으로 보고되었다. 콩 SDS에 대한 방제 대책으로는 저항성 품종 또는 조숙성 품종의 재배, 파종시기의 연장, 콩 SCN-비기주성 작물과의 윤작, 재배포장의 지속적인 경운, 그리고 시비조성에 있어 KCl 함량의 증가 등이 있다. 현재 우리 나라에 있어서 콩 SDS 발병에 관한 보고는 없으나 전 세계적으로 그 피해가 확산되고 있으므로, 이 병에 대한 종자 전염성 및 한국 콩 품종들의 SDS 저항성에 대한 연구가 전무한 실정이므로 이에 대한 대책을 강구해야 할 것으로 사료된다.
