Abstract
Dans la foulée du diagnostic de la crise du fordisme formulé par l'école française de la régulation, nous faisons état de certains éléments d'un débat théorique sur la nature et les fonctions des activités de services dans la réorganisation de la production économique et sociale en cours dans les pays industriels développés. Nous examinons par la suite la nouvelle place occupée par certaines catégories d'employé(e)s de bureau dans le procès de production industrielle traversé par des changements techno-organisationnels orientés vers la gestion intégrée et l'usage flexible des ressources humaines et matérielles. Nous faisons état dans la conclusion de la place stratégique qu'occupent ces couches sociales dans les nouveaux rapports de production en même temps que nous constatons leur fragmentation, leur diversité et leur complexité.
