Abstract
Dieser Beitrag thematisiert Veranderungen, die das Social Web fur die Branche der Buchverlage induziert. Hierzu werden zunachst Entwicklungstendenzen, wie die zentraler werdende Rolle des Lesers und die Erweiterung der Publikationsoptionen auf Seiten der Autoren, beschrieben und eingeordnet. Auf dieser Grundlage werden die Moglichkeiten, welche sich dadurch auf Verlagsseite zur Optimierung der externen Kommunikation eroffnen, skizziert. Dieses Bild wird mit den Ergebnissen einer Untersuchung abgeglichen, welche einen Einblick in die tatsachliche Wahrnehmung und Praxis der Nutzung sozialer Medien auf Verlagsseite gibt.
