Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The study concluded that the viscosity and the presence of a shock wave had absolutely no impact on the pressure variation; only the angle of attack played a role. The conclusion of this study is therefore that the pressure on the outlet plane is mainly caused by the wake vortices, and consequently, by a reversible phenomenon.Secondly, the drag extraction and decomposition method treated in this work is mainly based on the thermodynamic decomposition of the axial velocity defect on the outlet plane. However, the original formulation of this defect, which is the square roots of a function based on entropy, is not defined everywhere in the computational domain because the radical of this square roots can become negative under some conditions.Mathematically offensive, this problem can be avoided for most of the encountered flows when using this method. However, this requires a human intervention which is obviously a drawback on its utilization in an automated optimization process.Secondly, this problem can become major when dealing with unsteady flows. The fourth contribution of this thesis is to propose a new formulation of the axial velocity defect, which has the advantage of being a continuous function on all the computational domain, its radical being of the order of the magnitude of the square of the velocity. This new formulation has been compared to the original formulation for many test cases. It has been shown that for cases without flow separation, and for flows with weak separation, results are equal. However, in the case of a strong separation (near stall), the new method shows a higher level of accuracy than the original formulation. Moreover, in all cases, the new formulation do not requires a human intervention. The last and scientific contribution of this thesis propose a new drag extraction and decomposition method which can be applied to steady and unsteady flows. This new method allows to physically decompose the drag in terms of viscous drag, wave drag, induced drag, and drag due to unsteady fluctuations. This "new" type of drag is partly caused by the variation of total enthalpy, which, as opposite as a steady flow, can be not negligible.Despite the theoretical nature of this development, this method has been tested on two validation cases. The first test case tested the situation where the reference domain is stationnary and the unsteady state is simulated with a transient boundary condition. The second case tested the situation where the reference frame were non-inertial and the unsteadiness of the flow was caused by the oscillation of the mesh. Both test cases provided results which agreed well with the theoretical predictions, thus validating the developped method.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
