Abstract
L’effluent traité des eaux usées de la Ville de Montréal renferme divers dérivés d’origine anthropique, notamment des hormones et des détergents qui contiennent du nonylphénol. Les technologies actuelles ne permettent pas de traiter de tels effluents. Cet effluent agit-il comme perturbateur endocrinien? Quels sont les impacts écotoxicologiques de cet effluent? L’analyse des caractéristiques de l’effluent porte à croire en son potentiel estrogénique. L’utilisation d’organismes bioindicateurs est un élément clé dans le choix de la technologie de désinfection la plus efficace. L’ozone est susceptible de répondre à plusieurs problématiques environnementales mais le remplacement des coagulants du traitement primaire par le ferrate accentue les effets de l’ozone et réduit le dosage d’ozone requis pour atteindre les objectifs environnementaux de rejets.
